[SPEC]ial, Red

Wine style: dry red wine

Variety: 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon

Country of origin: Slovenia, Goriška Brda

Alcohol level: 13.5% by vol.

Wine serving temperature:16–18 °C

Maceration: 3 weeks

Ageing (maturation): 12 months in barrique (oak barrel)

Tasting notes:A wine of dark ruby red colour. Rich body, indicated by a mighty flower with a predominant smell of red fruits, yet it is also gentle, grassy, and slightly spicy. The taste reminds us of a dark-fruit jam (plums, black elder) with the addition of spices (green pepper) and garden herbs. In the mineral aftertaste a moderate spiciness comes to light, even though smoky notes are present throughout the aftertaste. Wine pairs well with red meat, especially if the meat is prepared in a way that preserves the primal tastes (tartar steak, beef carpaccio, pasta with tomato sauce, spicy food,English beefsteak and Carniolan sausage (special Slovene famous sausage).
